One of the best ways to make lots of money in a short period of time is to promote stuff in seasonal niches.
Seasonal niches are those niches that are active for a short period of time each year such as Christmas, Halloween, Valentines, Back to School etc.
Promoting affiliate programs in seasonal niches can be very profitable because there is a very big audience (think Christmas) and an upsurge in online spending, usually for gifts.
Seasonal affiliate programs aren’t really recommended for long term profits though since after that period has ended you’ll probably not earn anything substantial until the season comes back around in a years time. But they can be fun and extremely profitable while they last.
One good advantage is they are predictable and you can prepare ahead of time to take advantage of these niches.
One upcoming seasonal niche you can focus on is Mother’s Day which in most parts of the world, will be celebrated on the second Sunday of May. This year it’s Sunday May 12th.
If you find a great Mother’s Day affiliate program to promote, you have about 3 weeks to build your affiliate marketing campaigns. You should get started so that your site or promotional pages are ranking in the search engines (keep in mind this isn’t the only way to promote).
Finding Mother’s Day Affiliate Programs
To find Mother’s Day affiliate programs, think about what usually sells well around Mother’s Day. What types of gifts are bought? What services are popular around this time?
I took a look at Google’s search suggestions and found some searches that may suggest what people are looking for. These would make great sub-niches to focus on.
- Mothers Day Gifts for Mothers to be
- Mother’s Day Gifts for Bird Lovers
- Mother’s Day Gifts for Cat Lovers / Dog Lovers
- Mother’s Day Gifts for Cooks
- Mother’s Day Gifts for Teachers
- Mother’s Day Gifts for First Time Mothers
- Mother’s Day Gifts for Gardening Moms / Gardeners
- Mother’s Day Gifts for Christian Women
These ideas can all be used to give you ideas of where to look for affiliate programs. Also from the small list you can see opportunities for cross promotion.
For example, if you’re in the pet niche, let’s say it’s bird related – now you can add a page to your website and promote “mother’s day gifts for bird lovers”.
The best plan of action would be to use one of these suggestions and build a site around it. I would usually recommend starting way in advance (3 – 6 months) to ensure that your site is ranking but there are still ways to take advantage with Mother’s day right around the corner.
You can also try working on Father’s Day (third sunday in June) seasonal promotions and beyond.
