Dr. Forrest Shaklee, in 1915, developed the first vitalized minerals (vitamin) in the USA. Shaklee is going strong, with the science & research behind each of the products. They produce a drink for NASA, 1994, called "Astro-ade" for the astronauts when they return to earth. NASA came to them for the development & formulation of this astronauts only drink. Peer-reviewed research aplenty!

In reply to Toni Scuirame. If that were the case, I think it would have been already shut down by the FTC. Right now, it is free to become an IBO as they have done away with the registration fee. You might still need to purchase a kit but it is not required.

Your post is partly truthful. This is my experience with them I was once a member and actually got the product just to use their roadside assistance. I didn’t know it was an mlm company at 1st. They say you can get 1 tow a day for 100 miles. I used their tow services a few times the year I joined and was randomly banned for life with NO EXPLANATION. I later on kept think to myself why I was banned and just settled with the guess that’s it was really a scam and they expected me to be not just a customer but join as an employee because I guess that’s how they make money. Anyway that’s why I say you partly on point with your post. Ever since I’ve used AAA and has never had an issue with AAA for years. So I just wanted to share my experience so people can BEWARE they might randomly let you down and leave you stranded like they did me when you actually need the service you paid for.

In reply to Suzanne Renfrow. Generally no. However, most sellers who have multiple products would offer what is called "deep linking". Deep linking is where you can add your affiliate id to any page on the sellers website and it will be tracked. This way your visitors will end up on the page that is most relevant to them and you'll get a commission if they purchase. Some merchants either have a tool for you to deep link or a way for you to add the affiliate id into the relevant page url. Amazon, for example, has a feature called Site Stripe, where your affiliate link for any specific page is automatically generated and displayed at the top of the page.

Oh, very good ideas! The affiliates I’m thinking of using are ones I’ve purchased from so those are all doable!

Next question: Is there generally a way to edit an affiliate link so it points to a specific product on the seller’s site? I’m seeing some that just point to the website, so the person clicking the link would then have to search for the product, I don’t like that idea.

In reply to Suzanne Renfrow. Good question. The idea is that the link takes you to the relevant information on the advertisers website. What you're supposed to do is add value in some way so that your audience will be interested in clicking the link and hopefully buying those products. Some ways to add value are to:

show yourself using the product
do a review and recommend the product
show how the product can solve common problems or satisfy a need

When you do this your audience is pre-sold from your unique perspective that the seller could not have offered and they'll be more likely to buy the product. Use the affiliate link and you get a well deserved commission.
