It’s the first Sunday Shares of 2018 and what better way to kick the year off than with looking at the year ahead.
This week I have a couple posts that will prep you for 2018 and a post that should stick with you throughout the year if you ever need it.
Reclaiming an unproductive day, increasing website traffic and what to expect from affiliate marketing in 2018 are some topics I’m sharing in this edition.
(1) How To Reclaim an Unproductive Day In 6 Steps
Having your own work from home business makes you accountable only to yourself and that means that sometimes you end up doing nothing even if you had the day planned out.
In this post on the Hubspot blog by Amanda Zantal-Weiner, these six ideas can help you reclaim an unproductive day. From bribing yourself to taking a break, I think I’ve used some of these at some point and there are others that are totally new like denying the delete key.
Personally, if I go through the day without doing anything at all, I just make sure to at least draft a post that I have planned and make sure to work on it first thing when I wake up. I leave the browser open so that the first thing I see when I fire up the laptop is that tab with the unfinished post.
Bribing myself is another tactic I use when I need to get work done. I love playing pool so I just say that I won’t shoot any pool until I finish this article. Or maybe I can watch a movie on Netflix as a reward to finishing a post.
(2) 147 Ways To Increase Website Traffic in 2018
This is a huge post with lots of tips for getting website traffic. The MyThemeShop editorial theme did a great job putting together this very useful post with lots of methods every website owner can use for driving traffic to their website.
I couldn’t even read through this in one sitting but I read the ones I thought I could use.
The post has a table of contents for easy navigation. There are about twenty main methods with different variations. For example, the “Generating Traffic Offline” has 22 different methods including:
The real reason I love this post is that the methods are explained as if it were an article by itself. Check it out and bookmark it if you think you could do with more traffic to your website.
(3) Affiliate Marketing in 2018, What You Need To Know
Kyle, one half of Wealthy Affiliate’s creators, posted his thoughts on what to expect from affiliate marketing in 2018.
For a community with a common goal to build successful online businesses in this industry, this was a welcomed and insightful post that offers a helpful look into the near future of affiliate marketing.
Kyle talks about affiliate marketing getting bigger due to the downfall of major offline businesses like Sears and Toys ‘R’ Us who neglected or underused the affiliate marketing industry. More businesses will are now realizing that they need affiliate marketers now more than ever if they’re going to grow their own online brands the way Amazon has.
He also mentions other things like authority blogging, population growth, ecommerce and hybrid sites, big opportunities outside of Amazon and what these all mean for affiliate marketers like you and I.
Check out the post and take note because it all affects you if you’re planning to build a successful affiliate marketing business in 2018.
There you have it, three posts that should keep you busy for this week and hopefully introduce you to a new technique that you might want to implement into your online business.
Stay productive and check back next week for another edition of Sunday Shares. And if these aren’t enough you can check out more links I’ve shared in the past.
