It’s no secret that the internet is the world’s biggest marketplace. And who wouldn’t want to have a store or some sort of visibility in the world’s biggest marketplace?
There are businesses that make 100% of their revenue without ever physically interacting with any of their customers. Amazon, for example doesn’t have any brick and mortar stores and made $136 billion in sales in 2016, beating out the likes of Costco.
Still, Amazon is on a whole different level to a lot of online businesses that are run from home, most times by a single person.
You can do a lot with a computer, an internet connection and a small cash investment.
In the following infographic by Distributel, they outline 5 of the best online businesses that you can start right now. I’m sharing this because affiliate marketing, the business model that I follow, is right there at #4.
I’m a firm believer that affiliate marketing IS one of the best businesses anyone can get involved with but there are other options as well. Check out the infographic below for some other ideas.
How to Get Started With Affiliate Marketing
If you want to get started with any of these five businesses, you’ll need to do your research or get some training so that you can maximize your efforts.
I can tell you about affiliate marketing but the others will need a bit of research for me to fully understand and explain to you what to do and how to get started.
There are lots of courses available online that will give you a good run down on what you need to get started with any of these and how to go about the process.
To get started with affiliate marketing, you’ll need to have an internet connection (you have one since you’re reading this), a computer and some spare time. Those are your basic needs to get started with affiliate marketing.
Your secondary needs include step-by-step training, a passion for a topic aimed at a specific group of people (niche market), and a website. You need not worry if you can’t figure out any of these right now. The training website I’m going to tell you about will show you how to start a website and how to find a niche market that you’re passionate about.
As long as you can do the training on this website, your knowledge of the affiliate marketing process will grow and each task you complete progressively builds your business. You will get search engine rankings, visits to your website from people interested in what you’re promoting and as a result, you’ll get sales commissions.
The website I’m talking about is called Wealthy Affiliate and I’ve been using it since 2007. I’ve learn a lot about affiliate marketing from them and even quit my day job back in 2009 to become a full time affiliate marketer.
Wealthy Affiliate keeps evolving and not only has training but the tools and resources for affiliate marketers to build their businesses. You can check out a full Wealthy Affiliate review here if you’d like to get started with a free account.
