It has been said that the basis of happiness boils down to 3 things – health, love and wealth.

Since this is a website that deals with making money online, I’m not going to talk about health and love. People want to make more money and they’re turning to the internet to learn how to do that.

If you can teach people how to make money online by building a niche website, you in turn can make a lot of money yourself. Same goes to niches in the other two categories.

But it’s not enough to just put up a website on how to make money online. That is, unless you do not want to get found. The topic is too broad and you run the risk of getting lost in the crowd of websites that are already beating the topic to death.

The smart way would be to find out what people want to make money with and go from there.

I did some research to see some of the ways people are looking to make money and the following 10 subjects are what people want to know about most when it comes to making money. And if you pay close attention, not all the searches have to do with making money online.

In this top 10 article, I break down the ten searches and how you can use them as ideas for a niche website in the make money/wealth creation industry.

1. AI (Artificial Intelligence)

10 years ago when I first wrote this article, the results were very different. The top search for “how to make money” was Bitcoin.

In 2024, Bitcoin isn’t anywhere in the top 10 searches (although there’s crypto), but there’s a new interest that was nowhere at all to be seen in 2014.

Over the past couple of years, artificial intelligence (AI) has become accessible to all, in the form of websites and apps that help us do different things. Chat-GPT, Midjourney, Dall-E, and a lot of others are quickly becoming household names. Things like generating images, helping solve problems, generating article ideas, creating videos, and a lot more are now possible with AI.

A lot of online businesses are also integrating AI into many of their features. Canva now has a bunch of AI features and even Wealthy Affiliate has a tool to let user find a business idea with the help of AI even before they get started.

One of the things having access to AI programs allows you to do is make money. And there are many, many ways. For example, if you’re running a blog, AI can help you speed up the blog writing process as an assistant, and give you ideas you probably would not have thought about. This gives you the ability to produce content that can make you money.

Of you can use image generation to create T-shirt art or repeating patterns which you can then use to sell clothing and other print-on-demand products on platforms like Etsy.

As a blog owner, you can look into some of the ways in which AI can help others make money and you’ll find endless content creation opportunities in doing so. Many AI apps also have affiliate programs so that you can earn a commission when you refer users to help them make money.

There are a lot of ways to make money if you already have money. Investing is a broad topic and you can show people lots of ways in which to invest their money.

This is a financial niche and your solutions do not have to be online. People just want to know how they can use the money they already have to make more money whether it be offline or on the internet.

You could dedicate an entire website to this topic as there are endless ways to answer this search query although I must admit that it is a little broad and can just be a beginning search until the searcher gets more information.

For example, one of the methods he might find could be stocks and then he’ll perform a secondary, more focused search on how to make money with stocks.

6. Audible

Audible is an audiobook service owned by Amazon. There are quite a bit of ways to make money with Audible.

Under the Amazon Associate’s program, you can refer people to Audible and get a flat fee for people who take the free trial or download a book. There are some popular strategies people use to make money doing this including reviewing audiobooks or creating summaries for popular audiobooks.

Another search that wasn’t on the list in 2014 is “how to make money with TikTok”. This is because TikTok, the short-form video app, didn’t blow up until around 2019 when it became popular with teens.

With it’s popularity, TikTok has allowed creators to go viral, sparking numerous trends and creating thriving communities. There is no wonder why people are looking for ways to take advantage of this massive opportunity.

Plus many of the other AI integrations on other websites use ChatGPT via their API.

There are many ways to make money with the help of ChatGPT. These range from generating scripts for YouTube videos to selling prompts and generating code for apps.

You could possible create a website that will teach people all the ways to make money with ChatGPT and never run out of things to write about. There are lots of affiliate marketing opportunities if you go this route, primarily from digital and SaaS programs.

9. YouTube

You may have heard about social media influencers making upwards of $30,000 per month on one of the most engaging websites on the internet.

As the world’s second largest search engine after Google, YouTube commands a huge amount of traffic that you could funnel to your websites and earn through affiliate marketing and other ways.

People want to know how they can take advantage of this incredible opportunity and earn money making short videos on YouTube. You could build a website and blog about the topic and earn commissions from referring video creation software and even affiliate marketing training.

A website focused on making money with YouTube will need to have videos embedded as examples so make sure your video creation game is strong to that you can show credibility as an expert on the topic.

10. Crypto

Bitcoin may not be in the top 10 anymore for “how to make money” searches but crypto is still hanging in there as people still want to know how to make money with digital currency.

Of course, there are as many ways to make money with crypto as there are coins of different types. Investing in Bitcoin or other types of crypto is the most straight-forward way and there are also different strategies for investing too.

The competition is very fierce in this finance niche if you want to target crypto itself so you may have to niche down a bit if you want to get in on this one possibly focusing on a coin or promoting trading tools and bots.

For example, lets say you promote a blogging course, you can use the “AI” search to show bloggers how to earn money online blogging in the AI niche.

Think about what you promote and align each search with your product. This can mean lots of traffic if you find the right angle and keywords to write a post (or series of posts) about.
